Victoria University – Sunshine Construction Futures

A 200 metre long Building Trade Teaching Facility comprising a single storey Workshop area of 5,900 m2 and two storey Teaching and Support area of 4,250 m2.

The new Sunshine Construction Futures building will provide a centre of true excellence – high quality, accessible, industry-responsive facilities from which to deliver building and construction training. Flexible space will be maximised and materials will be used in an innovative and sustainable way to provide an iconic building for Victoria University and the broader western region of Melbourne.

The building form will express the progressive nature of the construction industry – the influx of new materials and construction design technologies that are available and rapidly developed – encouraging industry partners to engage with the centre, providing the students with invaluable experience and industry exposure.
A 6 Star Green Star design, with optimum day lighting through highly insulated facades, while a mix of passive & active ventilation and temperature control systems have been used to provide for the an exemplary teaching environment.
