Jay Plester
DIRECTOR
Jay was educated at Christ Church Grammar School, University of Western Australia and Curtin University with studies in Computer Science and Applied Mathematics before choosing a career in Quantity Surveying. He joined the practice of Davson and Ward in 1985, leaving in 1989 to establish the practice of Merefield Wilde and Woollard with Terry Merefield.

Jay's areas of expertise include Cost Planning, Bills of Quantities Production, Post Contract Cost Control, Financial Modelling, and Evaluation of buildings for Taxation and Insurance purposes. He has worked on the development of computerised cost modelling of multi-storey buildings for preliminary budget and feasibility analysis, and is currently refining and extending this application to other areas of construction.

His past experience includes projects in Western Australia, Queensland, the Australian Capital Territory, Indonesia and Brunei. In 1995 Jay was seconded to Jakarta office as the Senior Surveyor in charge of the $100,000,000 Carita Bay Resort development for PT. Carita Karakatau International.

Jay became an Associate Director in 1996, a Director in 2000, and was appointed Managing Director of the Perth Office of Wilde and Woollard in 2005.
Graham Peden
DIRECTOR
Born in Canada in 1949, Graham Peden was raised and educated in England. After gaining his Higher National Diploma in Building he worked on a series of major building projects in and around Peterborough UK including the new research laboratories for Unilever, Peterborough Telephone Exchange and Head Offices, British Sugar Corporation headquarters and restoration work to Peterborough Cathedral.

Graham operated a number of successful businesses involved with the hospitality industry before moving to Perth with his family in 1989. Graham is a member of the Rotary Club of Perth. Graham became an Associate Director of the Perth office of Wilde and Woollard in 2003 and a Director in 2005.
Chanaka Ratnasekara
DIRECTOR
Chanaka was educated at Department of Building Economics, University of Moratuwa in Sri Lanka and worked extensively in the Middle East prior to coming to Australia.

Chanaka’s experience includes projects in Sri-Lanka, working with Maga Engineering (Pte.) Limited and DCL – Quantity Surveying Services (Pvt.) Limited; Qatar, with the Arab Engineering Bureau; and Abu Dhabi with D.G. Jones & Partners Ltd. He migrated to Australia in 2003, taking up a position with Wilde and Woollard.

Chanaka’s areas of expertise include all areas of Cost Planning, Bills of Quantities Production, Evaluation of Sub-Contractors’ quotations, and Post Contract Cost Control.
Caren Ukang
ASSOCIATE DIRECTOR
Caren joined Wilde and Woollard in July 2007 as part of the working experience and practice program while attending university.

Caren graduated from Curtin University of Technology in 2008 with studies in Construction Management and Economics; completed research on Life Cycle Costing – Data Management.

Caren has been given some great opportunities by being involved in several different categories of works such as educational, religious, residential, government and commercial projects.

Caren’s area of expertise includes all areas of cost planning, measurement and the preparation of bills of quantities, preparation of financial reports, and post contract cost control.
Jessica Ling
ASSOCIATE DIRECTOR
Jessica joined Wilde and Woollard in 2006 as a part-time employee and was offered a full-time position following her graduation in February 2009.

Jessica is fully conversant in all areas of cost planning, measurement and the preparation of bills of quantities, evaluation of sub-contractors’ quotations, assessment of replacement cost for insurance purposes, preparation of financial reports, and post contract cost control.

Since 2018, Jessica has taken up lecturing at Curtin University on several quantity surveying units such as measurement and cost estimate.
John Liddle
SENIOR QUANTITY SURVEYOR
John had over 30 years of industry experience in New Zealand before moving to Perth in 2006.

1973-1998 Civil contracting and joinery work residential and commercial construction

1999-2000 Civil QS /Estimator: Preparing schedules, pricing contracts and contract administration

2000-2004 Civil QS / Estimator: Preparing schedules, pricing, contract administrations, assessing claims and variations

2004-2006 Building Inspector for Auckland City Council

John joined Wilde and Woollard in 2006 and has been involved in all areas of quantity surveying including cost planning, measurement and the preparation of bills of quantities, pricing, preparation of financial reports, and post contract cost control and management.
