Value Management

Value management seeks to ensure that clients are getting the best value for money from the design, construction and operation of their property assets.

Using a systematic approach to Value Management, we can analyse a range of design and cost options in order to provide clients and the design team with sufficient cost information for them to make informed design decisions.

Structured workshops can be a useful tool at each stage of the design process for all stakeholders to identify and evaluate potential design options and to ensure value for money is being achieved. They become crucial where significant budget issues have to be resolved.

Value for money should not just be used as an excuse for cost cutting; removing quality finishes and fittings out of a project or at the expense of functionality. Short term design substitutions as cost savings can often have long term maintenance and operating cost consequences, far in excess of any short term capital savings.

Value management must be based on a thorough understanding of the client’s needs in order to ensure that their overall project objectives are always achieved.
